Outdoor escape room
A trial that gave Timaruvians a chance to explore side streets and connections/locations that might have been unfamiliar to them and for us to understand new uses and routes.
What happened and why?
Timaruvians participated in a Timaru-specific outdoor excape room game where participants were guided via an electronic tablet to sites in the CityTown, where they explored and discovered physical signs or markers and solved puzzles. The aim was to guide people into different places that they didn't normally go and experience their CityTown in a new way. Through the use of this trial, we will learn about people’s preferred routes throughout the CityTown, and how new paths and mobility modes could be encouraged.
